Hi,
We’re looking to book a youth hostel for a gathering sometime in the
early new year (End of January). What would be the costs involved in
booking Saffron Walden for a weekend (Thursday->Sunday), and is this a
possiblity?

It is definitely a possibility to make a booking such as the one you have asked for. At the moment I am waiting for the winter recreations office to send me their current bookings list (bookings between October and April are taken by the head office). Once i have these details I will be able to confirm which weekends are available. The booking cost under what is called the “Rent a Hostel” scheme is approximately £600 for three nights, but this only includes access to the building, any meals would be extra. The best thing to do would be to call me on Monday when I will be able to answer your questions in a little more detail.
